Module 8, Lesson 4: People Pleasing & Boundaries
In this lesson, we'll be taking a look at people pleasing and boundaries, how these two concepts are intertwined and how they can impact your leadership abilities.
The focus will be on:
1️⃣ People pleasing is not about others, but about avoiding discomfort. Many of us say yes to things we don't want to do because we fear the discomfort of saying no. It's important to recognize that it's okay to prioritize your own needs and set boundaries.
2️⃣ Nobody truly wins when you people please. When we constantly say yes to please others, we may end up feeling resentful and delivering on commitments we don't want to fulfill. Meanwhile, the people we aim to please are not getting our authentic selves, and the relationship dynamic suffers.
3️⃣ Embrace the power of saying no. Saying no can be uncomfortable, but it's necessary for setting boundaries and living authentically. Remember that you have the capacity to handle worst-case scenarios, and saying no allows you to prioritize your own well-being.
The goal is for you to lead with stronger boundaries and break free from people-pleasing tendencies for your own happiness and well-being.
