Module 8, Lesson 5: Emotional Triggers
"Go into leadership," they said. "Hire some help," they said. "It'll be rewarding," they said. ๐
I wish your days oculd be filled with nothing but joy, excitement, fulfillment, and fun. But we all know that's not what most women feel on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, the overwhelm, frustration, anger, and shame make their way into our lives and have us questioning what we're actually doing and, for some, consider quitting.
The great news is that we don't have to suffer with them all the time. I'm giving you a strategy for overcoming the emotional triggers you struggle with.
1๏ธโฃ Understand your emotional triggers: It's crucial to identify the emotions that challenge you the most. Take a moment to reflect and make a list of these triggers. Recognizing them is the first step towards much more happiness and fulfillment in your business, with your team and in your life.
2๏ธโฃ Embrace discomfort and set boundaries: Often, we try to avoid triggers by people-pleasing or over-controlling situations. However, this only hinders your growth and decision-making abilities.
3๏ธโฃ Develop procedures to manage triggers: Just like Captain Sully had a procedure for emergency landings, you need a proactive approach to handle triggers. Design procedures ahead of time and rehearse responses for common triggers.
The goal of this work is to empower you to maintain control and make deliberate decisions, even in challenging situations.
